“Miyan, Well Bowled, What You've Done In Australia Is Unbelievable” – Mohammed Siraj Recalls Virat Kohli's Words To Him After 2020-21 Australia Tour

The 27-year-old Indian pace bowler Mohammed Siraj recalled former Indian captain Virat Kohli’s words to him after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 series, which India won by 2-1 against Australia.

Mohammed Siraj, playing his debut Test series against Australia Down Under in 2020-21, emerged as India’s leading wicket-taker in the series. He made his Test debut on the tour at Melbourne Cricket Ground and overall he played 3 games and bagged 13 wickets at an average of 29.53, an economy of 2.85 and a strike rate of 62.0, including one 5-wicket haul.

Notably, the India National Cricket Team under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane and in the absence of several top players, including Virat Kohli, registered a historic Test series win in Australia by breaching the Gabba fortress in the final Test match of the series.

Speaking on the Royal Challengers (RCB) Podcast, Siraj revealed Virat Kohli’s unforgettable words to him after India’s victory in the Test series against Australia. Siraj said that Kohli labelled his performance in Australia as “unbelievable” and said that nobody will forget what he has done for India on the historic tour.

“Virat Kohli told me something I’d never be able to forget. After returning from Australia, he said ‘Miyan, well bowled, what you’ve done in Australia is unbelievable.

“Nobody will be able to forget what you’ve done there. Keep at it and keep your focus on fitness and keep putting in the hard work,'” he said.

Meanwhile, Kohli and Siraj will be playing together in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as both the players have been retained by the franchise ahead of the mega auction. Kohli has been retained for INR 15 crore and Siraj has been retained for INR 7 crore.
