The Indian Premier League (IPL) witnessed a new winner as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were crowned as the new champions after a long wait of 17 years. RCB director of cricket Mo Bobat urged his team to get addicted to the feeling of winning titles after they clinched their maiden IPL trophy.
There are only two teams that defended their IPL titles successfully, and those two teams are the most successful teams in IPL history, named Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Bobat wants RCB to also follow the same path and defend their title next year.
Mo Bobat’s winning speech
After lifting the maiden IPL trophy, RCB director of cricket Mo Bobat gave a motivational speech to the RCB players as he wants his team to get addicted to the feeling of winning. Bobat pointed out that not many teams have won consecutive IPL titles, and the next year’s IPL final will be at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, and Bobat wants his team to be playing in Bangalore in IPL 2026.
This winning addiction will motivate them in the next season and will lift the trophy again next year. It took RCB 17 years to wait for their maiden IPL title as they lost all three IPL finals before IPL 2025.
“I am gonna ask you to really make sure that we get addicted to this feeling of winning. Because this is a start. Not many teams have won back to back IPL titles. It has happened twice before. Next year, we will have a final in Bangalore and we will go again. So get addicted to the feeling tonight. Because it’s that feeling which then drives the hunger to go again next year,"
"It’s that addiction to winning, winning that trophy and sharing these moments which spurs us on and drives us on. We will be back next year and win that trophy again,” Bobat told the team members in the dressing room," Mo Bobat said in dressing room.
Bobat was trolled after the mega auction as he made the second-string England side by picking Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone, and Jacob Bethell to their side. All these trolls have now changed to praises for the RCB management by the fans.

RCB director thanked Virat Kohli
Mo Bobat also thanked the RCB talisman, Virat Kohli, who has been with the franchise since the inaugural IPL season and has been giving his all for the team’s cause for 18 consecutive years.
"I know you don't like to be singled out, Virat, but thank you for everything as a senior player and an icon player of this team. Everything you have put in over the last 18 years, you deserve this moment," Bobat stated.
Bobat believed that the aggressive cricket helped his side to clinch the IPL 2025 title, and the environment in the dressing room was special. The IPL trophy is one of the most anticipated trophies in world sport, and what RCB have gone through for all those years is unbelievable, according to Bobat.
Mo Bobat praises Phil Salt
RCB director heaped praise on RCB’s opener Phil Salt, as in the last few days, Salt traveled to his home for the birth of his child and then came back to India.
Salt could have easily say no to rejoin RCB for the playoffs due to the birth of his child, but Salt showed his passion for the game and joined the squad on the morning of the final clash.
