Mohammed Shami Calls Ishant Sharma ‘The Best Guy Around’ In Team India

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami lauded his fellow pacer Ishant Sharma and called him the best guy to be around in Team India. Shami will be seen in action in the upcoming IPL 2021 edition, which will be his return to competitive cricket from injury.
Shami had his right arm broken thanks to a bouncer from Pat Cummins in the first Test between India and Australia in Adelaide in December 2020. Since then, he has been out of commission recovering from the injury at the NCA in Bengaluru. He missed the remainder of the Australia Test series and England’s tour of India that followed.
Ishant Sharma Is A Great Guy, He Doesn’t Give You The Feeling That He Has Played Double Of What You Have Played: Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami, while speaking to PTI, said the success of the current group boils down to the joy they share in each other’s success. In the same vein, he revealed that he was helped massively by Ishant Sharma when he made his Test debut for India.
Shami further said that Ishant Sharma taught him how to share his knowledge and wisdom with youngsters in the team to make them better, which in turn, makes the team better.
“When a youngster joins, it is imperative that an established player talks to him about everything under the sun, it lifts his confidence. If you have someone like Ishant around, I don’t think you can feel down for a long time,” he added.
We Are Pushed By Each Other When We Are Tired: Mohammed Shami On His Bond With Ishant Sharma
Mohammed Shami talked further about the bond he shares with Ishant Sharma and says that cricket is the game of skills and abilities and that he, Ishant, and Jasprit Bumrah keep reminding us of their own abilities and how they can sync into one and help each other and the team.
“We are pushed by each other when we are tired. This fast-bowling group is just wonderful. The last four-five years with them have been really special. We have enjoyed each other’s success and this is something you should learn from the Indian team. There are no talks behind the back,” he added.
Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma will be seen in the IPL 2021 edition playing for Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals respectively.
