Indian right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj contributed to yet another magnificent bowling display by India against Australia in the third day of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Australia took the lead going into the fourth day; however, they only had four wickets in their hand. Mohammed Siraj conceded that maintaining a consistent line and length is crucial in bowling out Australia.
Mohammed Siraj, who is one of the debutants for India in the ongoing Test, backed up his performance of first innings of two wickets by taking one of the six to fall in the second. The 26-year old removed Marnus Labuschagne and Cameron Green in the first innings and subsequently dismissed Travis Head in the second, who was fairly set.
“The track on the first day was very helpful for bowling but it has become very slow today. Not much is happening and there wasn’t much swing on offer. The key is to remain patient and hit one area consistently,” Siraj said as quoted by Times of India.
I had worked very hard on my fitness and that’s paying off well: Mohammed Siraj
“During lockdown, I had worked very hard on my fitness and that’s paying off well. I did well for India A in the red-ball format and that really helped and after my good performance with the white ball in this year’s IPL, I got confidence that I can do well for senior team also and hopefully, I will keep up the good work in future too,” he added.
