Test cricket has resumed post the IPL with England taking on New Zealand in their own backyard in a three-match Test series. The first Test at Lord’s has seen plenty of action already as heaps of wickets fell on the first two days of the Test match. The Test match is very likely to end within three days given the bowlers from both sides have wrecked havoc so far.

The Lord’s pitch has come under the scanner for the way it has played out so far in the Test match. The likes of James Anderson Stuart Broad, Tim Southee and Trent Boult have been unplayable. Meanwhile, in this article, we take a look at most Test wickets by a seamer on a single ground.

5) 80-Chaminda Vaas, Colombo SSC

Vaas is a veteran of 111 Tests for Sri Lanka in which he has picked 355. Most of his wickets have come in the sub-continent. The left-arm pacer forged a great partnership with Muttiah Muralitharan from the late 90s to the early 2000s. He ranks fifth in this list with 80 wickets in Colombo.

4) 82-Dennis Lillee, MCG

Lillee was one of the fastest bowlers of his time. He was also a part of the Australian side that produced several unplayable pacers during the late 80s and the early 90s and he was a part of that group. Dennis Lillee and Jeff Thomson formed a great pair themselves and tormented boilers from all across the globe.

3) 83- Heath Streak, Harare

Former Zimbabwean skipper Heath Streak was part of a side that competed with the best of international teams in the 90s. He along with Alastair Campbell, Grant and Andy Flower. He played 65 Test matches in which he picked up 217 wickets. 83 of them were at Harare, a venue that brought him rich success in his international career.

Stuart Broad and James Anderson round up this elite group of bowlers. The two of them are currently playing the Lord’s Test against New Zealand. Taking the two innings together both bowlers have accumulated for 10 wickets in the match. Broad has picked four and Anderson six. His four-fer has taken him to 96 wickets at this venue leaving him four short of a century.

James Anderson leads the list of bowlers with most wickets at a single venue. He currently tops the table with 114 scalps. Anderson and Broad were included in the series against the Kiwis after both were dropped from the series against West Indies. Both have bounced back in stunning fashion bringing England closer to winning the first Test.
