Former Indian cricketer and legendary captain MS Dhoni hoisted the national flag at his Ranchi farmhouse to celebrate the 77th Independence Day. A video clip of the Indian tricolor proudly fluttering atop MS Dhoni’s residence on August 15th went viral across various social media platforms.
Hailing from the state of Jharkhand, MS Dhoni led the Men in Blue to three ICC trophies. The wicketkeeper-batter has been a dedicated servant to the nation both on and off the field. He proudly holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Territorial Army.

The 42-year-old batter’s exceptional achievements on the cricket field have garnered him prestigious sports honors, such as the Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna Award, alongside civilian recognitions like the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards.
On Tuesday, August 15, an Instagram user posted a video clip showcasing the Indian national flag proudly waving atop Dhoni’s farmhouse. The flag’s impressive size made it easily visible even from a distance.

The Ranchi-born cricketer is the only captain to win all three ICC trophies in white-ball cricket. He led the team to the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa, the 2011 ODI World Cup title in India, and the Champions Trophy in 2013. The team reached No. 1 in the ICC Test rankings under his tenure.
MS Dhoni Retired From International Cricket On August 15, 2020
The iconic Indian captain announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020. He bid adieu to red-ball cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2014-15. The batter stepped down from India’s captaincy role in the limited-overs format in 2017.
Dhoni took to Instagram to share a video announcing his retirement, captioned “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired.”

Dhoni represented Team India in 90 Test matches, 350 ODIs, and 98 T20Is, accumulating 17,266 runs. He recorded 16 centuries and 106 half-centuries. He was the fifth-highest run-scorer for India in ODIs, amassing 10,599 runs.
