MS Dhoni's 'AURA' hypnotizes Amit Mishra; Virender Sehwag brings him back to Earth

Former India player Amit Mishra mistakenly started analyzing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) following the IPL 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI). Virender Sehwag quickly issued a brutal response to Mishra, reminding him that the question was about SRH, not CSK or MS Dhoni.
Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered their second defeat of the season to Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025. SRH managed to post just 143 for 8 in 20 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, April 23. Mumbai secured the win comfortably, with Rohit Sharma scoring his second fifty of the season.
MS Dhoni Needs to Play at Least 30 Balls - Amit Mishra
Sunrisers Hyderabad are second from the bottom on the IPL 2025 points table with just two wins from eight games. During a discussion about their playoff hopes, Amit Mishra was asked whether SRH could still qualify for the top four.
However, the veteran spinner began speaking about the Chennai Super Kings and MS Dhoni. Mishra added that Dhoni should bat higher up the order and face around 30 deliveries.
I think it’s almost impossible,” Mishra said, and mistakenly began to address CSK's campaign.
The brand of cricket they are playing right now, it will be hard to win all six matches. For that, they would have to do well in all departments. If Dhoni comes to bat up the order, he needs to play at least 30 balls, with all due respect to their top order.”
It’s All Because of MS Dhoni’s Aura - Virender Sehwag
Virender Sehwag corrected Mishra, reminding him that the question was about SRH, not CSK or Dhoni. Mishra offered an apology to Virender Sehwag.
"The question was about SRH, not Dhoni or CSK," Virender Sehwag corrected.
Virender Sehwag then made a witty remark, saying, “It’s all because of Dhoni’s aura,” which drew laughter from the panel.
After SRH's dramatic collapse to 35 for 5, Heinrich Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar helped the team to a more respectable total. SRH skipper Pat Cummins acknowledged the lack of stability during their innings.
“Abhinav and Klassy got us to a good total, but we couldn’t get through this innings,” Cummins said. “Needed a guy to really steady the ship.”
SRH and CSK Set for Crucial Do-or-Die Clash on April 25
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings are set to face off in a crucial IPL 2025 clash on Friday, April 25. Both sides desperately need a win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Each team has managed only two victories in eight games so far.
The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, a venue where SRH have won just two of their last eight encounters against CSK. It's also the ground where the Pat Cummins-led team lost the 2024 IPL final to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
SRH are just ahead of CSK in last place due to a slightly better net run rate. Both teams are unlikely to finish in the top four unless they stage a stunning comeback.
