Prithvi Shaw, the dashing right-handed batter is in the form of his life. The batter recently smashed 379 runs in Ranji Trophy for Mumbai against Assam. The 23-year-old batter last played for India in July 2021 against Sri Lanka and since then he has been missing in the Indian setup.

According to sources, it is reported that the batter has got some disciplinary issues that have kept him out of the national team. The batter has shown immense striking ability where he has surprised the opponent with his wide range of shots.

Prithvi Shaw’s childhood coach Prashant Shetty was having an interaction with News18 and has revealed his conversation with Prithvi Shaw. “I think it’s just the realisation that ‘bahut bada karna padega’ to get noticed. It was in his mind when we were practicing before the season. He had told me that ‘sir mujhe bada hi karna padega and bada karuga’. He had said this before going and himself had realised that 100s can become 150s, 150s can become 200s and 200s maybe 300s.” said Prashant Shetty.

Great Chance for Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw has made a strong case for himself for the upcoming Test series against Australia. He had a forgettable Australia 2020-21 tour where he was dropped after the 1st Test match. The batter since then has worked on his technique and has looked unstoppable.

Chetan Sharma led selection panel has a conundrum as already Shubman Gill & KL Rahul are fighting for a place in the team. It would be interesting to see whether Prithvi Shaw gets drafted into the squad and along with Sarfaraz Khan is the other batter who has been amassing tons of runs in the domestic circuit.
