Mumbai Indians women take on the Gujrat Titans in match 3 of WPL 2024 in Bengaluru on Sunday, February 25. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST Bengaluru will host the first 11 gams of the season. Delhi then will host the remaining games including the Eliminator and the final.
Mumbai Indians played two games against Gujarat Giants last season and won both. They won the first match by 143 runs and the second by 55 runs. They are also the title’s defending champions, with Harmanpreet Kaur leading the side.
Mumbai Indians bought as many as five players in the auction namely Shabnim Ismail (1.2 crore), S Sajana (15 lakh), Amandeep Kaur (10 lakh), Fatima Jaffer (10 lakh), Keerthana Balakrishnan (10 lakh). Ismail certainly added some strength to the bowling attack.
They are a much stronger team on paper than the Gurat giants and with Harmanpreet Kaur as the skipper, they have a seasoned skipper well-known of the Indian conditions. Bowling wise Saika Ishaque and Shabnim Ismail. Hayley Mathews was the leading wicket-taker last season with her part-time off-spin and is a seasoned campaigner with the bat.

Yastika Bhatia (WK)

Bhatia will open the batting. Last season, the left-handed batter smacked 214 runs in 10 games with a top knock of 44. He is an aggressive batter and also the first-choice wicketkeeper for the side.
Hayley Mathews

Mathews will open the battle with Bhatia. She ended the last season with 271 runs and as many as 16 wickets. She was one of the most important players for the franchise last season and will continue to play an important role.
Harmanpreet Kaur (C)

Harmanpreet Kaur will bat at three. She scored a fifty in both games against Gujarat Giants last season. Overall, she scored 281 runs in 10 matches last season and finished as the fourth-highest run-getter.
Nat Sciver-Brunt

Brunt will slot in at four as one of the batting all-rounders. She along with Harman forged a good partnership last season and will look to do the same this season. She ended as the second-highest run-getter with 332 runs and 10 wickets.
Amelia Kerr

Amelia Kerr delivered the good both with bat and ball last season. She was very much used as a floater in the last season. She batted mostly in the top order and played the sweep shot well. She finished with 149 runs and 15 wickets.
Amanjot Kaur

Kaur might bat at six. She was bought at 50 lakhs by the franchise. Haryana’s Amandeep Kaur is the only left-arm wrist-spinner in the competition who bowls finger spin and wrist spin as well.
Pooja Vastrakar

Vastrakar is the bowling all-rounder for Mumbai Indians. Last season, the right-handed batsman hit 71 runs across 4 innings at a strike rate of 144+. She also got 2 wickets while bowling across 3 games. She is a regular in the Indian white-ball squads.
Jintimani Kalita

Kalita will be another pace-bowling all-rounder in the XI. She played 10 games in the last season and picked 1 wicket. She batted in just 2 games and hit unbeaten 3 and 2 in those matches. Kalita might get more opportunities in the 2024 season.
Keerthana Balakrishnan

Balakrishnan the uncapped all-rounder from Tamil Nadu was picked up by the franchisor for 10 lakhs. She is a leg-break bowler and is known to have a lot of variations. This will be her maiden WPL stint.
Saika Ishaque

Ishaque will be the specialist left-arm spinner. She ended last season with 15 wickets from 10 matches at an average of 16.27. She is Mumbai’s biggest weapon with the ball.
Shabnim Ismail

Ismail concludes the likely playing XI for Mumbai Indians against Gujarat Giants. She was released by UP Warriorz which allowed Mumbai Indians to pick her up. She is amongst the most experienced international players in this league.
