With renowned cricketer Murali Vijay confirming that he will play for Ruby Trichy Warriors this season, the T20 competition received a significant boost.
The seasoned veteran has not played for Tamil Nadu or any other league matches in the last year or so because he was not vaccinated.
According to TNCA secretary RS Ramasaamy, Salem and Coimbatore will be the new stadiums for the TNPL, while Chepauk will be closed due to renovation project.
He praised the TNCA for putting in the effort to organize the league and insisted that it has aided state cricketers advance.
“We (the Tamil Nadu team) are the first champions of the T20 format since its inception (the 2006-2007 national season). The Tamil Nadu Premier League is a gift for the state’s players. The TNPL has greatly aided young players; six to seven are currently playing in the IPL, and some have represented India “Vijay said this while welcoming Giggr as a sponsor at a TNCA event.
