Injury threat for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team ahead of their second and final Test match against Australia in Mackay. Mushfiqur Rahim injured himself during a training session while batting in the nets against a fast bowler. Rahim, who played 100 Test matches for the national side, is an important part of Bangladesh in the ongoing away series against Australia.
The Bangladesh cricket team is now standing on the verge of creating history after their stunning 9-wicket win against Australia. Outplaying the host nation in all possible departments, the Tiger Brigade claim victory against all odds and take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Even a draw in the next match will be enough for them to seal a rare Test series victory against the mighty Australia, in Australia.
Injury threat for Mushfiqur Rahim ahead of Australia vs Bangladesh 2nd Test match
Ahead of the series decider match, Mushfiqur Rahim needed assistance from the team physio as he hurt himself in the nets. From video footage shared by Cricinfo on social media platforms, Rahim was captured on his knees clutching his right hand. The ball might have struck him on his left hand, which was definitely painful for the batter.
The injury, however, seemed not so critical as it was feared before. Cricinfo, through the video post, also mentioned that Mushfiqur Rahim took a blow, but that was not serious, a minor blow. So, he is not ruled out of the Mackay Test match, which is scheduled to start on August 22.
"A brief scare for Bangladesh fans... Mushfiqur Rahim took a blow in the nets and needed some treatment, but head coach Phil Simmons has confirmed he’s fine and good to go," the caption of the video post read.

Hasan Mahmud confirmed Bangladesh's win over Australia by 9 wickets in Darwin
In the previous match, thanks to those fiery spells from the emerging pacer Hasan Mahmud, Bangladesh restricted Australia to below-par totals in both innings. In the first innings of the game, the hosts scored only 198 runs for 10 wickets, and the Bangladesh fast bowler picked up 6 wickets for only 55 runs. In the second innings, he claimed three more.
On the same pitch, where the Aussies struggled to handle the pacers, the visitors secured a total of 426 runs in their first innings. A century from Tanzid Hasan and half-centuries by the captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took the team to a comfortable position after the conclusion of the first phase of the match.
Australia will try their best to level the series in Mackay
Australia named a full-fledged playing eleven against the lower-ranked Test cricket team, but they could not match the level of all-round cricket displayed by the Bangladesh cricket team. As the Pat Cummins-led side scored 284 runs in their second innings, Bangladesh needed to score only 56 runs to register a win. Mominul Haque finished it off in style, smashing a four against the Aussie pacer Beau Webster.
The Mackay Test is expected to be more intense as both Australia and Bangladesh will try their best to come back in the series to save their pride.
