England take on the Netherlands in the third and final ODI on June 22, Wednesday eyeing to clean sweep them. The visitors are already leading the series 2-0 after winning the first two games. The third ODI holds different meanings for the two teams. While England are looking to finish on a high, the Netherlands are looking to pull one back.

England won the second ODI by chasing 236 runs in just over 36 overs. Jason Roy scored 70 at the top along with Phil Salt scoring 77. Moeen Ali scored 40 off 42 balls to take his side home.

Eoin Morgan has scored ducks in both the games. Amid the other batters getting runs, Morgan’s woeful form has been a subject of debate. However, the management will ideally stick to the same XI that has done a tremendous job in the first two games.

Opening with him will be Philip Salt who is fresh of a 77 in the second ODI. Together they added 139 runs for the first wicket. Salt is the top-scorer in the series so far with 199 runs from two games.

Malan will bat at number three. He scored an unbeaten 36 in the second game. He was one of the three England batters to score a ton in the first ODI. Overall, he has scored 161 runs in two matches.

Morgan scored two ducks in the first two games and would like to end the tour on a high by scoring something substantial in the final game.

Liam Livingstone

Living scored a quickfire 66 in the first ODI and was out for just four in the second. He will bat at number five and look to score big in the final overs. Along with Roy, Buttler and Malan, he forms the batting core of England in their current white-ball squad.

Jos Buttler (WK)

Buttler did not get an opportunity to bat in the second ODI after scoring 162 runs in the first ODI. If England are looking to breach the 500-run mark batting first, Buttler should ideally open the batting.

The England all-rounder scored 40 off 42 balls to take his side home in the second ODI. He also bowled four overs for 30 runs.

Sam Curran

Curran should come into the playing Xi in place of Brydon Carse. He can bat and bowl and is a brilliant fielder to boost. He gives the team a better balance in the given conditions than Carse as well.

Willey will bat at number nine in the playing XI. He is a good swing bowler that England have in their arsenal in the conditions. He can also bat anywhere in the XI given his flexibility as a player.

Reece Topley

Topley can be the third seamer in England playing XI. He is also the third left-arm seamer in the XI. Given the opposition and the conditions, he is a good selection.

Adil Rashid

Rashid completes England’s strongest-looking playing XI for the third and final OSDI against the Netherlands. If the batters play to their potential they can breach the 500-mark and their bowlers can defend it.
