The most likely candidate among them to win is Venkatesh Prasad given his experience in international cricket for India. Prasad has played 33 Tests & 161 ODIs for India. He has 290 International wickets in his bag and is the most experienced cricketer to apply for the new selector’s post. He has previous experience as a bowling coach with RCB as well in the IPL and thus has plenty of T20 experience to lean on as well.

Moreover, it has been learned that the CAC members are willing to hold the interviews in person rather than any virtual medium or zoom call. The same will be notified to the BCCI who will need to arrange the travel facilities for the shortlisted candidates.

No agenda of discussion has been set as yet for the candidates and it is learned that the CAC will meet the BCCI office bearers to discuss parameters on which the interviews will be held for the various candidates for the national selector’s post.
