Iceland Cricket has taken another sarcastic swipe on social media, this time targeting England batter Harry Brook amid speculation that he could become the team's next Test captain. Reacting to reports linking Brook with the role after Ben Stokes' retirement, the account joked about his disciplinary record.
Brook will lead England in the first T20I of the five-match series against India on Wednesday, July 1, at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is currently considering its next permanent Test captain following Stokes' retirement from international cricket.
Nightclubs, Beaches, and Police Stations - Iceland Cricket
Iceland Cricket trolled Harry Brook on X after reports suggested the young batter is the leading candidate to become England's next Test captain. The post quickly went viral, with fans reacting to the latest joke from the popular social media account.
Brook reportedly was involved in an off-field incident outside a Wellington nightclub in late 2025. The incident happened just hours before England’s third ODI against New Zealand.
"Harry Brook ready to lead England in all three formats. That's nightclubs, beaches, and police stations," Iceland Cricket tweeted on Tuesday night.

It Would Be a Great Honour - Harry Brook on England Test Captaincy
Harry Brook said that he would be proud to captain England if he were offered the Test captaincy. The 26-year-old also revealed that outgoing captain Ben Stokes fully supported him as a potential successor.
Brook said leading England in Test cricket would be the biggest honour of his career. He described Test cricket as the highest level of the game and said becoming England's Test captain has been a dream since childhood.
"It isn't up to me, but if I were offered it, then I would be happy to take it. I don't know yet, but it would be a great honour to do it," Harry Brook said.
"It would be a privilege to captain England in the highest format of our game and the pinnacle. Playing Tests is the greatest thing I have ever done in my life and it is a dream, something I have always wanted to do since I could speak."
We Won't Rush the Decision - Brendon McCullum on England's Next Test Captain
Brendon McCullum said that the selectors will take their time before naming Ben Stokes' successor. England do not play another Test until mid-August against Pakistan at Headingley, giving the ECB enough time to decide. Joe Root, Jacob Bethell, Ben Duckett, and Ollie Pope are also in contention.
England's recent Test series defeat to New Zealand has made the captaincy decision even more important. The ECB is also considering whether to keep separate captains for Test and white-ball cricket to reduce the workload on players and build long-term stability.
Brook has shown his commitment to England by putting international cricket ahead of franchise leagues. He skipped the Pakistan Super League and accepted a two-year IPL ban after withdrawing from his Delhi Capitals contract. He also wants to keep improving under Brendon McCullum's attacking style of cricket.
