No More Delays In Players’ Payments As BCCI Adopts Digitalisation Of Payment Interface

On Saturday, November 19, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that it has adopted the digitalisation of the payment interface for players and State associations to make sure that there is a seamless transfer of funds without any delays.
Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had a very complicated system in place and things are expected to change with the adoption of the new system.

In the old system, the players used to raise invoices to their respective state associations, who would forward them, after approval to the concerned BCCI staff, who would then send them to the BCCI office bearers for approval. After the aforementioned things were completed, the payments used to be released. This system involved a lot of paperwork and several times the payments of the players were delayed.
The BCCI has decided to finally digitalise players’ payments after receiving several complaints of delay in payments in past.

Speaking about the digitalisation of payments, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that the players getting their match fees on time is their priority.
“Players don’t need our approval to receive their match fees anymore. For us players getting match fees on time is the priority. It will be a kind of blanket payment and an easy process will be followed,” the BCCI secretary Jay Shah told The Indian Express.
“Players themselves will now be able to raise invoices as per their convenience at any location through the online portal,” Shah added.
Meanwhile, the new system will lead to the players and State associations having minimum paperwork to handle and a reduced timeline to process invoices. For this, the BCCI has adopted Database Management System (DMS).
Also, the invoices for players will be submitted monthly and the players will receive payments based on the number of matches played in a month.
