England and Rajasthan Royals swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman, Jos Buttler, has picked his all-time IPL XI.
Buttler, who smoked a whirlwind hundred against SunRisers Hyderabad-his first in T20 cricket- in the now suspending 14th season of the IPL, recently appeared on CricBuzz where he was asked to name his all-time XI in the cash-rich league.
Ignoring the likes of Chris Gayle, David Warner, Jos Buttler picked himself and five-time champion, Rohit Sharma, as the two openers. While the Rajasthan Royals cricketer has amassed 1968 runs in 64 innings, Rohit Sharma is the fourth-highest run-getter (5480) in the history of the T20 League.
The rest of the batting line-up consists of usual suspects sans Mr.IPL Suresh Raina, who was overlooked by Jos Buttler despite being one of the greatest-ever players to ever feature in the competition. Raina, who is a three-time IPL winner, is also the third-highest run-scorer [5491] in the tournament’s history.
Virat Kohli (6076), AB de Villiers (5056), and three-time IPL winner, MS Dhoni (4669) make up for the middle-order.
Butter picked Kieron Pollard and Ravindra Jadeja as his two all-rounders.
Jos Buttler’s all-time IPL XI:
Jos Buttler, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, MS Dhoni (WK), Kieron Pollard, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah
