"No time to think"- Jasprit Bumrah breaks silence on how ICC has exploited team India to the core in T20 World Cup
After less than 48 hours of their semi-final victory over England, India will be up against South Africa in the big final against South Africa. This may not seem ideal that there is such a short turnaround between a semi-final and the final. But India has no other option but to play.
The T20 World Cup 2024 has been affected by logistical issues throughout the tournament. Recently, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was asked to present his views on the short turnaround time between the semi-final and the final but surprisingly, he didn't have any problems with such a situation.

Jasprit Bumrah speaks on the short turnaround time before the final
While speaking to the ICC on the eve of the final match between India and South Africa, Bumrah told ICC presenter and his wife Sanjana Ganesan that it is a blessing in disguise to have less time as he doesn't need to over plan, which will not complicate things.
"It is a good thing sometimes when you don't have a lot of time to overplan or confuse yourself or complicate things. So you know, you are straight on the flight, rest and recover and no time to think and no complications," Bumrah said.
Meanwhile, due to the short turnaround time, India decided to cancel their practice session ahead of the final.
Jasprit Bumrah has been exceptional in the tournament so far. The Indian spearhead has picked up 13 wickets in 7 matches so far at an average of 8.15 and an economy rate of 4.12. His skills will be tested against a South African batting line-up, which is full of power hitters like David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, and Tristan Stubbs in the middle order.
Jasprit Bumrah hails Rohit Sharma
When asked about Rohit Sharma's captaincy, Bumrah hailed his captain for giving the freedom to his players and express themselves.
"Rohit Sharma has been absolutely phenomenal. Even in the previous World Cup you know, he has been proactive, he gives a lot of freedom to his players, he lets the players express themselves. When he feels the right time, he shares his own experience during the match. So ya, it feels really great and I feel very happy playing under him and the confidence of the group is also very high," The 30-year-old added.
Rohit Sharma has been brilliant as a captain and as a batter this tournament. He is the highest run-scorer for India and the third-highest run-scorer overall in the T20 World Cup 2024. His decisions like the bowling changes and the field placements as a captain have been spot on as well.
The final of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played between India and South Africa on June 29 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados. Both teams are the only undefeated teams in the tournament so far and this offers to be a cracker of a contest between two in-form teams.
