Not Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma!! Piyush Chawla names India's most important bet vs Australia

Former leg-spinner Piyush Chawla believes that India's frontline pacer Jasprit Bumrah is going to cause problems for Australia with his 4 overs tonight. 

India and Australia are all set to lock horns against each other in their final ICC T20 World Cup Super 8 game at the Darren Sammy ground in St. Lucia.

Two of the world's cricketing giants will face off for the first time in this T20 WC, which is just a few days away from conclusion. An interesting game is on the card for the entire cricketing fraternity to witness.

Stars set to collide tonight in St. Lucia

The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, David Warner, Rohit Sharma, Travis Head, Virat Kohli, and Pat Cummins among others are all going to be in action tonight. This will be the third time that the two teams will be meeting each other in an ICC competition since 2023.

Last year, both India and Australia dominated both of the international competitions - the World Test Championship and the ODI WC 2023. 

On both occasions, it was the Aussies led by Pat Cummins, who came out on top of Rohit Sharma's Men in Blue. In June 2023, India first lost the WTC final at the Oval by a margin of 209 runs.

A few months later on November 19th, Australia saw the Indian side set up a target of just 241 which they chased down by the 43rd over of the 2nd innings and won by 6 wickets in Ahmedabad. 

Those memories are still fresh in the hearts and minds of Indian fans as well as the players themselves. For India to take their revenge and try knocking out the ODI and Test World Champions, a lot will depend on senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

The right-arm pacer is going to cause a positive impact with his bowling and give problems to the Aussies, feels Piyush Chawla. 

What did Piyush Chawla say about Jasprit Bumrah? 

While speaking to Star Sports on the eve of this fixture, Piyush Chawla spoke about the importance of Jasprit Bumrah against mighty Australians. Chawla believes that Bumrah will be the entire point of difference in this WC for India and that he is someone who can enter any given team in the world. 

Piyush Chawla is of the view that Jasprit Bumrah like he always does, is going to give a headache to Australia with his spell of 4 overs. The former leg-spinner, who spent IPL 2023 with Bumrah in the Mumbai Indians camp, also claimed that the latter will put Australia in plenty of trouble and that it will be a great contest to watch. 

"Jasprit Bumrah is the big point of difference in this World Cup. He is the person who would be on any team sheet. He is somebody who can take a lot of wickets. And I think when you've got a player like that in your rank and bowl four overs; I think Australia are probably in a little bit of trouble. I can imagine that he would be putting them under a serious amount of pressure, but it's going to be a great one to watch," Piyush Chawla stated.
