Former Australian National Cricket Team all-rounder Shane Watson talked about the two key players for the India National Cricket Team going into the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He said that Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah will provide big challenges to the Pat Cummins-led side.

India and Australia National Cricket Team will be engaging with each other in the five-match Test series. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 will be played in November-December and January, and the series will also be part of the ICC World Test Championship and potentially will decide the finalist as well.

India have been extremely dominating on their last two tours to Australia

India National Cricket Team have been extremely dominating on their last two tours to Australia. The Men In Blue won two back-to-back series down under and would be keen to complete the hat-trick of wins this time around as well and book their berth in the final of the ICC World Test Championship.

India will be having a lot of match winners in the team and one among them will be Rishabh Pant. The keeper-batter has been the main reason behind India National Cricket Team winning the last two series as he came up with a gigantic effort with the bat, hitting a ton in 2018-19 and then playing two sensational knocks in Sydney and Gabba in 2020-21.

Shane Watson believes that Australia should worry about Rishabh Pant

Shane Watson believes that Australia should worry about Rishabh Pant, pointing out his success in the last two tours. He highlighted the tough times the keeper-batter went through and backed him to have a big series. Speaking on the sidelines of the International Masters League, he explained:

“One is Rishabh Pant. He’s got great memories of the last tour he had from a batting perspective in Australia. The innings that he played at the Gabba were something very special.

"Knowing that he’s come through his challenges in the last couple of years to be able to come back as an even better player than what he left off, I think he’s going to have a big series."

Rishabh Pant made a return to Test cricket after his accident in 2022 in the recently concluded series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. He announced his arrival in style as he slammed a century in the first game and then finished the second game in style for the team.

He’s going to be very effective in Australia as well - Shane Watson on Jasprit Bumrah

Shane Watson also feels that Jasprit Bumrah will be having a big series. He pointed out that the fast bowler is an all-condition bowler and will be very effective in Australia. While talking about the same, he explained:

"Also, Bumrah is someone who in Australian conditions, in all conditions he’s so good. His ability to be able to just take wickets and get batters out, he’s going to be very effective in Australia as well. So those two guys, if they have big series, they can really provide Australia with some big challenges."

Jasprit Bumrah has been a diamond for India in Test cricket. He has proved his worth in all the conditions and has had a massive success in Australia as well. He is currently the No.1 ranked Test bowler and would be keen to win for his team.
