In their previous match, New Zealand lost to Australia. Batting first, Aussie mustered a gigantic total of 388-10 on the board. David Warner (81) and Travis Head (109) gave a marvelous start with an opening stand of 175.

Later, Glenn Maxwell (41), Josh Inglis (38), and Pat Cummins (37) added crucial runs on the board. Trent Boult and Glenn Phillips picked 3 wickets each but they failed to strike early. During the chase, New Zealand openers Devon Conway (28) and Will Young (32) failed to provide a powerful start.

However, one-down Rachin Ravindra shattered 166 off 89 to bring the Kiwis back into the game. Daryl Mitchell also added 54. The Kiwis lost 6 wickets before reaching 300 on the board.

However, James Neesham kept the fight on with his 58-run knock. The match went to the final over when New Zealand needed 19 from 6 balls. However, Neesham’s run-out on the penultimate ball allowed the Aussies to win by 5 runs in the end.

South Africa’s last match against Pakistan was also a thrilling one. Batting first, Pakistan piled up 270 on the scoreboard before losing all wickets. Babar Azam (50) and Saud Shakeel (52) scored fifties for the team.

Later, Aiden Markram slammed 91 runs for South Africa while the rest batters failed to even score a fifty. At the climax of the match, South Africa needed to score 11 runs with one wicket in hand. Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj managed to guard their wickets and captured the winning runs for the team; winning the game by 1 wicket.
