PAK vs AUS: "GOAT" - Ravichandran Ashwin's Unmissable Reaction To Nathan Lyon Entering Elite 500-Wicket Club

The veteran India National Cricket Team off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin came up with a million-dollar reaction on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) after the star Australia National Cricket Team off-spinner Nathan Lyon entered the elite 500 Test wickets club.

Lyon is regarded as the greatest off-spinner to have represented the Australia National Cricket Team in the purest format of the game. He and late great Shane Warne are two of the best spinners from Australia to have stepped foot into the international cricket arena and they single-handedly won many matches for the Aussies.

Lyon, who currently is 36 years old, has achieved the historic milestone of 500 wickets in Test cricket. He achieved the feat in the home Test match against the Pakistan National Cricket Team at the Perth Stadium on Sunday, December 17.

He would have entered the elite club earlier in the year when the long-time rivals – Australia and England – locked horns in the Ashes 2023. However, an injury ruled him out of the series and delayed his historic achievement.

Lyon was heading into the Test series against the Shan Masood-led side with an eye on 500 Test wickets milestone and he managed to bag that after dismissing the all-rounder Faheem Ashraf on the fourth day, after winning the lbw review.

The Australian bowling great was elated after completing 500 wickets in the longest format of the game. He became just the 8th bowler in history and overall only third Australian after Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath to reach the milestone.

As Lyon achieved the massive milestone before Ravichandran Ashwin, the latter took to his official X handle to pass out his reaction. He lauded Lyon as the ‘GOAT’ and congratulated him for entering the elite club.

Not only Ashwin, but the legendary India National Cricket Team spinner Anil Kumble also congratulated Lyon for his terrific achievement.

Talking about the first Test between Australia and Pakistan, the Pat Cummins-led side absolutely crushed the visitors to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

While batting, they posted 487 & 233/5d on the board in their two innings and then bundled out the opposition for 271 & 89 to clinch a remarkable 360-run win. Star Aussie all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was awarded Player of the Match for his terrific performance. He scored 90 and 63* in the two innings and bagged one wicket with the ball as well.
