PAK vs AUS: My Goal Is To Win T20 World Cup 2024 For Pakistan - Fakhar Zaman

Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman opened up his goal in the 2024. He said that he wants to win the T20 World Cup 2024 for his team and play a crucial role for them in the tournament, slated to take place in the USA and Caribbean in June 2024.

One of the major events lined up this year is the T20 World Cup 2024. All the teams will be having an eye on it and among them is Pakistan. The Men in Green would be one of the hot favorites going into the tournament.

Pakistan since the last few years have been a force to reckon with in T20Is. They have played a magnificent brand of cricket for the last few years and surely are one of the top teams in the format. Their performance in the last two T20 World Cups has been exceptional and it won’t be a surprise if they end up winning this year.

Pakistan finished as semi-finalists in the T20 World Cup 2021 and then were the runners-up in 2022. One of the key factors behind their success in the T20 format has been Fakhar Zaman, who has been playing exceptionally well in the format.

Fakhar Zaman has been one of the shining lights of Pakistan. The batter has played some great innings for his team and his aggressive intent has been one of the main reasons behind the team putting big totals on the board.

Fakhar Zaman is completely focused on the next T20 World Cup 2024 and is keen to make his team win. He stated that he would pray that his teammates will be fully fit so that they can play well. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

“We have the T20 World Cup coming up this year. We have a very strong (T20I) team. I pray that we don’t suffer from any injuries. My main goal is for the Pakistan team to win the T20 World Cup and for me to play an important part in that.”

In the last few years, Pakistan have been opening with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. The duo have been extremely successful and batting at the top has brought the best out of them.

This has made Fakhar Zaman to bat out of his position and take the No.3 role in the team. The batter has adapted to that role well. But with the T20 World Cup 2024 around the corner, there has been a lot of speculation about his batting position.

However, he himself confirmed that team management has told him that he will bat at 3 or 4. He talked about the competition in the team and stated:

“Having competition is very important. It’s good that we have 6 players competing for a spot. I have always opened, but situation-wise, the team management has informed me that I’ll play one-down or two-down. As you know, Babar and Rizwan have been performing a lot. So the message I’ve gotten is for one-down or two-down, and I’m satisfied with that.”

Fakhar Zaman will be next seen in action when Pakistan take on New Zealand in the five-match T20I series. The series will begin from 12th January and it will mark Pakistan’s preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024.
