After losing consecutively to England in the first two Tests of the current three-match series, Pakistan is no longer in contention to go to the World Test Championship final. Babar Azam’s men fell short in the second game, which was played in Multan, by 26 runs after losing the series opener by 74 runs last week in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan had a great opportunity to tie the match and even the series during the second Test, but they were unable to take advantage of the uncommon batting error by the English and came up 26 runs short.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, was heavily criticised after his team’s second innings performance in the second Test, which was held at the Multan Cricket Stadium, in which he managed just one run from ten balls. He received criticism from a number of admirers and previous greats for failing to score runs under pressure.

Fans and previous greats have repeatedly targeted Babar, who is now Pakistan’s finest hitter across all three versions of the game, for various reasons. He led the Men in Green to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final last month, but he still received criticism for not being able to contribute enough with the bat.

He has 216 runs in four innings in two Tests, averaging 54.00, in the current Test series as well, thanks to a century and a fifty. At Karachi’s National Stadium, the third Test match between Pakistan and England will get underway on December 17.
