The visitors set Pakistan a target of 343 after declaring their second innings on 264/7 on day 4. England scored at 6.50 runs per over in the first innings. In the second innings, they raised the scoring rate at 7.36 with clear intentions of winning the Test match. Half-centuries from Zak Crawley, Joe Root, and Harry Brook took them to that score with Root especially playing some unorthodox shots.

Earlier in the game, England scored at 6.50 runs per over in the first innings to put up a mammoth 657. Centuries from Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Joe Root, and Harry Brook took them to that score with Root especially playing some unorthodox shots.

Pakistan in response scored 579 runs themselves with three batters including Babar scoring centuries in the first innings. The Rawalpindi garnered a lot of criticism as there was no assistance for bowlers from both teams in the first innings. As the pitch started wearing down, the England bowlers led by Anderson made the best use of reverse swing to pick up wickets in the second innings.

The second PAK vs ENG Test match will be played in Multan (Dec 9-13) followed by the third and final Test in Karachi (Dec 17-21).
