The star Pakistan National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan pulled off an astonishing catch behind the wickets to dismiss the Nepal National Cricket Team all-rounder Sompal Kami in the Asia Cup 2023 opener at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, August 30.
Rizwan grabbed the catch in the 17th over of the second innings, which was bowled by the express pacer Haris Rauf. On the final ball of the over, Rauf bowled a good length delivery just outside off-stump and the batter only managed to get a thick outside edge.
The ball flew behind the stumps between the keeper and the first slip, but Mohammad Rizwan decided to go for the catch, dived full length, and grabbed the ball nicely to complete an outstanding catch. Sompal Kami scored just 28 runs off 46 balls, including 4 fours, before walking back to the hut.

Pakistan Crush Nepal By 238 Runs
In the Asia Cup 2023 opener, the Men In Green crushed the Nepal National Cricket Team by 238 runs to register their third-highest margin of victory in ODIs. Also, this was the second biggest margin of the win by runs in the Asia Cup, only behind India’s victory of 256 runs over Hong Kong in the 2008 edition of the tournament.
Pakistan won the toss and posted 342/6 on the board. The top performers for the side in the batting department were skipper Babar Azam and middle-order batter Iftikhar Ahmed.
Babar Azam finished his innings with 151 runs off 131 balls, including 14 fours and 4 sixes, and he also stitched together an outstanding 214 runs in 131 balls with Iftikhar Ahmed. Meanwhile, Iftikhar Ahmed scored an unbeaten 109 runs off 71 balls, including 11 fours and 4 sixes.
Chasing the target, Nepal lost three quick wickets as they weren’t able to survive against Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah. Aarif Sheikh and Sompal Kami tried to stabilize the innings, but after they got out, Nepal lost wickets at regular intervals and got bundled out for 104 runs.
All five Pakistan bowlers – Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Nawaz, and Shadab Khan – were among the wickets. However, Shadab finished as the top performer with 4 wickets in his bag.
