Pakistan batter Abdhulla Shafique has called skipper Babar Azam his role model. He said that his Dedication and hard work are the education of young players and he’s learning a lot from him.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is one of the finest from his country to play the game of cricket. The batter has achieved a lot in his career and with the way he’s going, it is fair to say that some major records will be in trouble.

Babar is currently the backbone of Pakistan and is inspiring many young talents from the country. His ability to soak in all pressure and smash runs for fun separates him from other Pakistani batters.

Babar’s teammate Abdhulla Shafique hailed his hard work in the nets and said that he’s a role model for everyone in Pakistan.

Speaking to a cricket website, he said: “In my view, if there is one ideal role model for young batters in Pakistan whether they are part of the senior team or not, then that must be Babar Azam. To watch Babar’s hard-work and dedication to his game is an education. This is next level stuff and something all of us can and continue to learn from him. He works harder and puts in extra work in net sessions as well which is a real eye-opener for all of us.”

PAK vs NZ: “I have learnt a lot from him, and it is my aim to emulate Babar” – Says Abdhulla Shafique

Abdullah Shafique further went on to say whenever he faced any difficulty he approaches Babar Azam without any hesitation and added that his main aim is to emulate him. He elaborated:

“As for me, if I face any difficulty in my batting, I have no problems in approaching him for advice. Babar’s personality is such that if anyone goes to him for advice, whether young or experienced, he goes out of his way to explain and has no issues in working with them to help them improve their game. I have learnt a lot from him, and it is my aim to emulate Babar in the way he consistently performs for Pakistan.”

Babar Azam is currently leading Pakistan in the white-ball series against New Zealand. He recently scored a century in the T20Is and will be seen in action when two teams will lock horns in the ODI series, starting 27th April.
