PAK vs NZ: “He Doesn't Even Know Which Bowler To Give To Ball To” - Kamran Akmal Lashes Out At Babar Azam For His Poor Captaincy in T20 Series

Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal has slammed Babar Azam for his poor captaincy in the recent T20I series against New Zealand. He said that despite captaining the team for 4 years, the skipper doesn’t know how to lead the team.

Pakistan had a great chance to seal the T20I series against New Zealand after they took an early 2-0 lead in the series. But they couldn’t manage to close the series on high as the inexperienced Kiwi team thumped them in the last two games and drew the series 2-2, with the fourth game washing out due to rain.

Babar Azam didn’t rotate his bowlers well and failed to put pressure on the opposition despite taking early wickets as Pakistan had another humiliating series at home.

Kamran Akmal said that Babar Azam doesn’t know which bowler to give the ball to and when fans criticize them they accuse them. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he said:

“Speaking of their mistakes, they deflect and accuse us of criticism. But our focus is on their captaincy, not their performance. We’re not blind to their abilities. He still doesn’t know how to do captaincy after four years – he doesn’t even know which bowler to give the ball to at what time.

It’s no surprise that they lost when they continued to make the same mistakes. We didn’t control our errors, and that’s why they emerged victorious.”

PAK vs NZ: “If both the left-handed batsmen were on the crease, the logical choice would have been to give the ball to Iftikhar Ahmed,” says Kamran Akmal 

Kamran Akmal further lashed out at Babar Azam for his poor tactics. He said that he should’ve introduced Iftikhar Ahmed when two left-handers were batting. He also slammed Shadab Khan for his performances. He added:

“If both the left-handed batsmen were on the crease, the logical choice would have been to give the ball to Iftikhar Ahmed. But instead, we saw the leg-spinner Shadab Khan being given the over and was being continuously smashed by the New Zealand batters. It would have been wise to rest him and bring in another all-rounder to give the team a chance to regain their footing.”

After the enthralling end to the T20I series, Pakistan and New Zealand will now lock horns with each other in the five-match ODI series, which will be played from the 27th April.
