Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has delivered a startling insight into the current state of Pakistan cricket. As Pakistan struggle on the field in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, reports of an unrest in the team have started doing the rounds.

In fact, the rumours were so strong that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had to release a statement to deny the reports of rift. And recently, another report from Pakistani media suggested that the players were unhappy over the lack of support they have received from the PCB during tough times in the ongoing World Cup.

The players are reportedly unhappy that the board has not defended them from the heavy criticism. The players are also disappointed with the PCB for releasing the statement to deny the reports of unrest in the dressing room. And amidst all these, Rashid Latif has made some bombshell revelations.

Rashid Latif’s revelations:

Talking to PTV, Rashid Latif has claimed that Babar Azam has been messaging the PCB officials including chairman Zaka Ashraf from last two days but has not received any reply. He also revealed that Pakistan players have not received their salaries from the past five months.

“In the Pakistani media, many things are happening. Perhaps they are false news. I will provide you with the true news, which was kept on hold,” said Rashid Latif.

“Babar Azam has been trying to contact the chairman for the past two days, but they are not responding. He is messaging Salman Naseer (Chief Operating Officer), he is messaging Usman Walha (Director – International Cricket. So, what is the reason for not responding to their captain? Then, you are releasing a press statement,” he added.

Speaking further, Rashid Latif claimed that the Pakistan players have been told the central contracts they recently signed will be reconsidered by the board. The PCB and the players were involved in a long tussle over the contract before eventually striking a deal just before the World Cup.

“And it has been told to the players that we will reconsider the central contracts they have signed. These central contracts will not be accepted. Players have not received their salaries for five months, so how will they play? I didn’t want to reveal this,” said Rashid Latif.
