Pakistan Cricket Team Schedule Updated, National Team To Play 10 T20Is Against New Zealand In 2024

Pakistan will play 10 T20Is against New Zealand in the 2023-24 season, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Tuesday (July 18). While confirming the schedule, the PCB announced that the T20Is are a part of its strategic decision to provide the best preparation opportunities for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The Men in Green will begin their preparation for the T20 World Cup after the tour of Australia ends in January next year. Pakistan are scheduled to play three Tests against Australia from 14 December to 7 January. They will then fly to New Zealand for five T20Is and begin their preparation for the marquee event.

The NZ vs PAK T20I series will be taking place from January 12 to 21. The series opener will take place in Auckland before both the teams move to Hamilton and Dunedin for the next two games. The last two T20Is are scheduled to be played in Christchurch on January 19 and 21 respectively.

Pakistan to host New Zealand in 2024:

After visiting New Zealand, Pakistan will host the Black Caps in April 2024 for five more T20Is. While confirming the series, the PCB announced that the details of the series will be released closer to time. The addition of ten more T20Is will mean Pakistan will have played a total of 19 games in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup, to be co-hosted by the West Indies and the USA in June 2024.

Apart from playing against New Zealand, the Babar Azam-led side is also scheduled to play three T20Is against the Netherlands, two against Ireland, and four against reigning world champions England. The additional T20Is have also made the PCB make a few changes to its Future Tours Programme 2023-2025.

The two-match Test series between Pakistan and West Indies which was to be played in Pakistan in February 2024, will now be held in January 2025. Similarly, Pakistan’s tour to New Zealand for three ODIs and five T20Is, originally scheduled in January 2025, will now take place in April 2025.
