"Pakistan ne apne pair pe kulhaadi mari hai"- Virender Sehwag grills Babar Azam and Co

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag took a dig at the Pakistan cricket team for losing yet another match against India in ICC events. This was Pakistan's seventh loss to India in T20 World Cups.
Pakistan chasing 120 to win fell short by six runs, ending at 113/7. The Men in Green have now lost back-to-back games against the USA and India and have two matches remaining against Canada and the USA.
Chasing 120 to win, they were well placed with just three wickets lost. The dismissal of Mohammad Rizwan (31) in the 15th over turned the match around for them. There was a spell of 37 balls where Pakistan did not hit any boundaries. Naseem Shah hit two boundaries in the final over with 19 needed to win which was not enough.
Assessing Pakistan's loss, Sehwag said that Pakistan have only themselves to blame after losing the game. Referring to Punjab Kings from the IPL, Sehwag said " Pakistan ne apne pair pe kulhaadi mari hai" Pakistan were in a good position after bowling India out for just 119. They were in a good position till the 12-13th over".

He further said that Pakistan's inability to chase 120 in this match, highlights their unpredictability as a side.
"If Pakistan fails to chase even 120, with the wicket not being "unplayable" as it was in the first match then it's their fault entirely. They played bad shots and more dot-balls than India. This is not an unpredictable Pakistan side. This is a predictable Pakistan side which crumbles under pressure" Sehwag added further.
He further pointed out that Pakistan's inability to assess the conditions in the run-chase meant that only Pakistan could have beaten Pakistan from a potentially winning position after the first innings.
The bowlers set the tone in the first innings by taking wickets at regular intervals. All the pacers bowled well and made most of the conditions that were on offer with all the rain around. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Amir were all amongst the wickets to give their team a good advantage in the contest.

However, Pakistan's batting crumbled under pressure once again and the lower order hardly contributed anything to the chase after Babar and Rizwan were dismissed. Jasprit Bumrah took 3/14 including the big wickets of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. He ended up winning the Man of the Match.
Hardik Pandya took two wickets, and Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel took one each as well. India decided to field an all-pace XI with Jadeja and Axar being their spin-bowling all-rounders who did the job for them in the end.
120 is the lowest-ever total defended by India in T20Is. It was the lower-ever total defended in T20 World Cups as well. This is the second-lowest total successfully defended against Pakistan as well in T20Is.
India have games remaining against the USA (June 12) and Canada (June 15). Pakistan pace Canada next (June 11) and Ireland on Sunday (June 16). Pakistan lost to Ireland recently in a bilateral T20I series.
