Pakistan Playing 11 vs UAE- UAE T20I Tri Series 2025, Match 2:
Openers: Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan
Pakistan has had a topsy-turvy last few years in international cricket across formats, which effectively started with a loss against India in the Asia Cup 2023.
Since then, the team has seen several coaches getting replaced in addition to uncertainty over captaincy.
Having said that, the last few months have brought some sort of stability, which is evident by the fact that the selectors have decided to stick with the core that has been playing together for the better part of 2025.
The decision means that Pakistan are without the services of their two most experienced batters in Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, both of whom have been left out for quite some time in T20I cricket.
The absence of Babar and Rizwan would mean the likes ot Mohammad Haris, Hsan Nawaz, and Saim Ayub will get an extended run in this format of the game.
Pakistan will begin their batting innings in the match against the UAE with the opening pair of Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub, both of whom have shown sparks of form in one match or the other, but haven't clicked together much.
The duo will look to get things at the top of the order as a partnership and individually as well for Pakistan to start well in the game.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Nawaz, Salman Ali Agha (c), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Haris (wk), Faheem Ashraf
Like they have done in the last couple of series, the Men in Green will go with batting depth in the upcoming match.
The team management prefers to have batting at least till number eight with a couple of all-rounders, which would result in the Men in Green going with only three specialist bowling options.
The Salman Ali Agha-led side will have the services of Mohammad Nawaz as the spin bowling all-rounder, who will most likely bat at number six or seven.
Faheem Ashraf will be the fast bowling all-rounder who is more than capable with both bat and ball.
Regardless of the batting depth, the majority of the runs have to be scored by the top five batters.
Bowlers: Shaheen Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem, Haris Rauf
As mentioned above, Pakistan will go into their second match of the series with only three specialist bowlers in the form of Shaheen Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Haris Rauf.
The team's fast bowling department will be taken care of by Saheen Afridi, who is the most experienced bowler in the lineup, and will have to take the responsibility of picking wickets with the new ball.
Shaheen will be supported by Haris Rauf, who will look to dismiss the opposition batters with pace, while Faheem Ashraf will be the fast bowling all-rounder.
As far as the spin bowling arsenal is concerned, it consists of Sufiyan Muqeem and Mohmmad Nawaz, with Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha also chipping in with an over or two if needed.
