The 35-year-old Australia National Cricket Team talented right-arm quick Scott Boland has revealed whether there is a panic in the camp after the Perth Test loss to the India National Cricket Team.
Australia were absolutely hammered in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 opener as they faced a 295-run defeat, but Scott Boland has stated that 'there's definitely not panic stations' in their camp.
It's not toys out of the cot, I don't think - Scott Boland
On Saturday, November 30, Boland said that they have lost just one game and there wouldn't be wholesale changes in the side. However, he admitted that there have been some chats in the dressing room about the individual performances of certain players.
"There's definitely not panic stations in our change rooms. There's obviously going to be some chats around individual performances and everyone wants to perform really well every game they play. But yeah, it's like, we've lost one game. It's not toys out of the cot, I don't think," he told media.
Scott Boland is likely to feature in the Australian playing XI for the second Test against India in Adelaide. He will be replacing Josh Hazlewood in the team as the star pacer picked up a side strain and has been ruled out of the pink-ball Test match.
Boland will be a huge threat to the Indian team as he has got a great record at home. He has bagged 28 wickets at 12.21 from six matches on the Australian soil.
KL Rahul batted well in the second dig as well and really dug in - Scott Boland
Boland further said that even before the start of the series against India, they had plans in place for the visiting batters, but the masterclass showcased by Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul ruined things for them.
Scott Boland, however, added that they will slightly tweak their plans heading into the second Test match and will be hoping to deliver a better performance.
"We've spoken as a team about our plans for all the different Indian batters. I won't tell you those, but we've got pretty set plans. They might have a little bit of a tweak after the guys have seen them again from Perth, because obviously [Yashasvi] Jaiswal batted really well there.
"KL Rahul batted well in the second dig as well and really dug in. So we'll probably have a chat over the next week and our plans might slightly change, but I'm pretty confident what we did in the first game was good."
My body's feeling really good now - Scott Boland
Boland despite being an exceptional bowler has played just 10 Test matches and has warmed the bench with the Big 3 - Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood - playing most of the games.
The 35-year-old had also sustained an injury in the winter, which cut his county cricket stint at Durham down. His most recent appearance came in the match against India A in Melbourne where he registered the scores of 1/51 & 0/36, and he is also set to play the India XI vs PM XI match.
Meanwhile, Scott Boland said that he hasn't played a lot of cricket recently but is ready to go against India and is feeling quite good at the moment.
"Obviously I haven't played a heap of cricket in the start of this season, but I feel like I've played enough cricket to feel like I'm in a really good spot," he said.
"My body's feeling really good now. I had a couple of niggles that were a little bit sore, but knee and foot are feeling really good and I'm confident how the ball's coming out."
