Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Mohammad Siraj opened up about his match-winning spell in the 27th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Punjab Kings (PBKS). He said that his plan was to bowl full and get some swing.

Mohammed Siraj was the main architect behind Royal Challengers Bangalore’s win against Punjab Kings. He broke the backbone of the opposition by removing their main players and putting his team in driving seat.

While defending the target of 175, runs Mohammed Siraj gave his team a flying start as he removed Atharv Taide in the second ball of the innings and then didn’t look back after that. He then went in to remove Liam Livingstone to hamper PBKS’ chances.

In the second spell, Siraj shattered the stumps of Nathan Ellis and Harpreet Singh Brar. If this was not enough, he displayed a staggering fielding performance as well as nailed his throw to send Harpreet Bhatia packing. He returned with his career-best figures of 4/21 and helped his side win the game.

Mohammed Siraj opened up about his spell and said that in the lockdown period, he worked on his skills and fitness. Speaking at the post-match presentation, he said:

“First ball the length was a bit short and then I sensed need to bowl full to get some swing and that was the plan (for first wicket). The lockdown was really important for me, because I used to get hit for boundaries very often before that. I worked on my plans, my fitness and my bowling and it’s all paying dividends now.”
