India’s latest white-ball squad member Ishan Kishan earned a maiden call-up to the national team for the five-match T20I series against England. The BCCI’s 19-man squad included new faces like Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rahul Tewatia as the trio impressed in IPL 2020 for their respective franchises. The left-handed batsman took to his official Twitter handle and reacted following an emotional few days.

Ishan Kishan was in sublime form in IPL 2020 for the Mumbai Indians as he emerged as the top run-getter for the franchise in a winning effort. The 22-year old slammed 516 runs in 14 matches, averaging an astounding 57.33 while keeping a strike rate of 145.76 alongside four fifties. Kishan also smashed 30 sixes in the tournament, hitting the highest of the lot. Thus, soon after the 13th edition concluded, there were calls of including him in the Indian team.

Furthermore, the Bihar-born cricketer is also in red-hot form in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021. The match between Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh witnessed Kishan hammer an unbeaten 173 off 94 deliveries with 19 fours and 11 sixes as Jharkhand finished with 422/9. Ishan Kisha, who kept wickets for Jharkhand during that clash, took seven catches that helped dismiss the opposition for a mere 98.

The Mumbai Indians’ keeper-batsman underlined that it has always been his dream to play for India and it’s a surreal feeling. The youngster added that he will continue to upgrade himself and keep working hard.
