Young batsman Prithvi Shaw just keeps facing troubles as he desperately tries to bring his career back on track. The highly-rated opening batsman has been grabbing the limelight for all the wrong reasons in recent times.
From being involved in a scuffle with an Instagram influencer to having a disastrous campaign in the IPL, Prithvi Shaw has had a lot of troubles in the recent past. And while he would have loved to put everything behind him and start afresh in his first-ever county stint in the UK, he has received yet another setback.

Last month, he signed up a deal with Northamptonshire to play the remainder of the County Cricket season in England and also be a part of the Royal London One-Day Cup. Prithvi Shaw was to leave for the UK after the conclusion of the Duleep Trophy.

Prithvi Shaw’s county stint delayed:
Prithvi Shaw was named in the West Zone squad for the upcoming Deodhar Trophy too but received permission from the BCCI to skip the competition for his county stint. However, the Time of India has reported that the batsman’s much-awaited county-stint has been delayed as he is yet to receive his visa.
“Prithvi is yet to receive his passport and visa back from the British embassy in Delhi. He has been waiting for over two weeks now,” a source told the news outlet.
“Shaw has received special permission from the BCCI to miss the Deodhar Trophy and leave for England for his maiden County stint. He was supposed to leave by yesterday or today, but the delay in getting a visa from the British embassy has held him up here,” the source revealed.
Prithvi Shaw will be hoping to receive his visa soon and he travels to the UK for his county stint. He has fallen down the pecking order for India and a good performance in England can turn the situation around for him.
Playing for Northamptonshire will make the batsman the fifth Indian to be part of the 2022-23 season after Cheteshwar Pujara (Sussex), Ajinkya Rahane (Leicestershire), Arshdeep Singh (Kent) and Navdeep Saini (Worcestershire).
