Dynamic Indian opener Prithvi Shaw was on fire on Sunday in the first ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo and lived up to his reputation. Prithvi Shaw earned the man of the match for his spectacular innings at the top of the order to give India a lead in the three-match ODI series. His rumoured girlfriend, Prachi Singh, has reacted to the same.
Prithvi Shaw carried his fiery form from the domestic circuit and IPL to international cricket as he returned to ODI cricket after a year. The 22-year old smashed 43 off 24 deliveries, smashing nine fours in the process. Shaw kickstarted India’s run-chase of 263 ecstatically as the tourists raced off to more than 50 in five overs.
Though the youngster played a bad shot to dismiss himself, his innings would remain a memorable one for a long time. The right-handed batsman hammered two fours in the first over and collected three consecutively off Isuru Udana’s bowling. Shaw giving the men in blue an electric start made things easy for the rest of the batsmen.
Shikhar Dhawan, the captain, was a mere spectator as Prithvi Shaw and Ishan Kishan took Sri Lanka’s bowling attack to the cleaners. But the 35-year old stayed till the end to ensure India pick up an easy win. He stayed unbeaten at 86 off 95 balls, while Suryakumar Yadav scored an entertaining 31 on his ODI debut.
