Priyank Panchal is a leading contender to lead the India A team when they host the New Zealand A team in September. Priyank Panchal is anticipated to be given the task once more after guiding the A team to South Africa last year.

According to sources, Hanuma Vihari is the next possible captaincy contender in the unlikely event that the 32-year-old is unable to participate in the series for whatever reason. Priyank Panchal is in the NCA in Bengaluru right now.

Seven players on the New Zealand A team have international experience, and they will play in an international match for the first time in four years. Their most recent trip was to the UAE in 2018, where they faced Pakistan A. India hosted New Zealand A’s final visit in 2017.

The Kiwis will play three four-day games in Bengaluru and as many one-day games in Chennai during the India tour, just as they did in 2017. On Friday, the New Zealand A team leaves for India (August 26).

Priyank Panchal Are In Contention For Captaincy:

According to sources who spoke to this website, there is a good probability that some of the top Ranji Trophy players will be chosen, but the selectors will also give certain foreign players a chance, such as the longtime Indian squad member and left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

India’s primary concern A team will be chosen based on testing out players who are prepared to replace an injured regular on the national team. The selectors were reportedly considering “who would one have if Ravindra Jadeja is unavailable,” according to insiders. The four home Test matches against Australia in February–March will be taken into consideration while choosing the four-day team.

Given that one selector is now in Zimbabwe and another has recently returned from abroad, it appears that the national selectors have not yet given their selection of the India A squad their entire attention.

But according to sources, Shubman Gill’s chances of being named captain, as some stories have claimed, are unlikely because he is reportedly in negotiations with a county. The squad for India A should be chosen within the next few days.
