Young Delhi batter Priyansh Arya has expressed his desire to play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. He said that he wants to play for the team because of Virat Kohli and help them win the title.
Priyansh Arya has been in the headlines for the last few days. This has been because of his heroics in the ongoing Delhi Premier League T20 for the South Delhi Superstarz. The left-hander has been one of the best batters in the league so far.
Priyansh Arya grabbed the eyeball of many after his recent performance in the game against North Delhi Strikers. The left-hander brought out his brutal best with the bat and helped his team win the game by a massive margin and gain crucial points for the team going into the Delhi Premier League T20.
Priyansh Arya, who opened the innings, went after the bowlers right from the start. He didn't put a foot wrong and put the bowlers under pressure. He caught the attention of many with his power-hitting as he hit the bowlers all over the park and made them clueless.
Not only this, South Delhi Superstarz batter Priyansh hit six sixes in an over too, and put his team in the top spot. He achieved the feat during the over of Manan Bhardwaj and entered himself in the elite list as he became just the second Indian to hit six sixes in an over.
Arya joined Yuvraj Singh as the Indian batter to hit six sixes in over. The former India all-rounder was the first Indian batter to hit six sixes in an over. He achieved the feat during the T20 World Cup 2007 match played between India and England at Kingsmead in Durban on September 19, 2007.
Priyansh ended with an innings of 120 runs in 50 deliveries. He also added 286 runs partnership with skipper Ayush Badoni, who slammed 165 runs, as the duo went on to slam the highest partnership in the shortest format of the game. Their exceptional batting saw the team posting over 300 runs and then winning by a big margin.
Priyansh Arya wants to play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru
With Priyash Arya playing a stupendous knock, he no doubt would've come under the radar of many ahead of the IPL 2025. However, the left-hander wants to play for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru because of his superstar Virat Kohli.
Arya said that he wants to help Royal Challengers Bengaluru win the IPL trophy as they haven't won the title yet. Speaking to SportsYaari, he explained:
“I want to play for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team because Virat Kohli is my favorite batsman and RCB have never won the IPL title till date and I want to help in that.”
It remains to be seen if Royal Challengers Bengaluru will pick Priyansh Arya in the mega auction for the IPL 2025 or not, especially after the batter expressed a desire to play for the team in the tournament.
