The Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim has ruled out the controversy that erupted following their defeat to the Peshawar Zalmi in the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Karachi lost to Peshawar in the high-scoring encounter by a narrow margin of two runs in their first match of the season.
Karachi Kings traded Babar Azam to Peshawar Zalmi ahead of the PSL 2023 edition. The Pakistan all-format captain played four seasons for the Karachi franchise in the tournament. There were also rumours that Babar and Imad did not share a healthy relationship. Both teams were involved in the high-voltage match on February 14.

We Need To Focus On Results – Imad Wasim
Speaking in the post-match press conference after his team lost to the Quetta Gladiators on Saturday, Imad Wasim said that he doesn’t want to pay attention to the media reports as the team is playing well and needs to focus on results.
“It is not like that. Everything that comes on media, is sometimes it true, and sometimes it is not. I don’t want to talk about Babar, because the way our team is playing, we need to focus on results,” Imad Wasim said.

It Happens In Heated Moments – Imad Wasim
Imad Wasim defended his teammate Mohammad Amir for his aggressive behaviour on the field, saying it happens in heated moments and there is no objection from match officials.
“A fast bowler should be aggressive. I don’t think he does anything intentionally, it happens in heated moments. As far as there is no objection on him by match officials, I don’t have any issue,” he added.
The Karachi-based franchise registered its first win after losing three consecutive matches in the ongoing PSL season. The Kings beat their arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars by 67 runs at the National Stadium in Karachi on Sunday, February 19.
