During their two-run victory against Karachi Kings in the second game of the HBL Pakistan Super League 8 on Tuesday at the National Bank Cricket Arena, Peshawar Zalmi were penalised for keeping a sluggish over-rate.
Ali Naqvi, the match referee, determined that Peshawar Zalmi were one over short of their goal after taking time allowances into account. Each player was thus penalised 10% of his match fee in line with Article 2.22 of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

Lahore Qalandars were one over short during their one-run victory over Multan Sultans in the opener on Monday, and each player on the team was also penalised 10% of his match fee.
Babar Azam Leads Peshawar Zalmi To Victory
In yet another last-over drama in the Pakistan Super League, Babar Azam led Peshawar Zalmi to a two-run victory over his previous side Karachi Kings.
Imad Wasim, the captain of New Karachi, nearly led a valiant run-chase by scoring an undefeated 80 off 47 balls, including a six on the final ball, to lead his side to 197-5 on Tuesday.

Babar, who was transferred from Karachi to Peshawar for the T20 tournament this season, scored 68 runs, but Tom Kohler-brash Cadmore’s 92 runs off 52 balls propelled Peshawar to 199-5.
Karachi had fallen to 46-4 after the first seven overs thanks to two early wickets taken by New Zealand’s James Neesham (2-26) before Wasim and veteran Shoaib Malik (52) put up a careful 131-run partnership and gave the home team hope.
Wahab Riaz missed a catch that should have been taken by Malik when he was on 38 at wide mid-on, and Neesham misjudged a skier by Ben Cutting before the Australian had scored, demonstrating shaky fielding of Peshawar Zalmi in the last overs.
With Malik caught behind in the penultimate over, left-arm fast bowler Riaz (2-34) atoned for his fielding error, while rookie fast bowler Khurram Shahzad (0-47) kept his composure in the final over with 16 runs to defend.
