Punjab Kings Playing 11 vs RCB- IPL 2025, Qualifier 1
Openers: Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya
Prabhsimran Singh will open the innings with left-handed batter Priyansh Arya in Punjab Kings' upcoming match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, scheduled to be played in Mullanpur.
The pair has done a fantastic job for the team in IPL 2025 so far and will look to continue that in Qualifier 1 on Thursday.
Prabhsimran Singh, who has been the backbone of PBKS with his aggressive strokeplay, will hope to keep up the good work the right-hander has been able to do when he takes the field against RCB.
Priyansh, on the other hand, has been at par with Prabhsimran and has scored more than 400 runs in the ongoing edition of the league, which includes a match-winning half-century in the last game.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Josh Inglis (wk), Shreyas Iyer (c), Nehal Wadhera, Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis, Suryansh Shedge
PBKS were boosted by the availability of two Australian hard-hitting batters, Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis, in the last couple of league games.
Inglis made an instant impact on his return to the team by scoring an attacking and match-winning half-century to help Punjab Kings clinch the top spot in the points table with a win against MI.
Inglis formed a decisive partnership with Priyansh Arya for the second wicket after PBKS had lost Prabhsimran early in a tricky chase.
Josh Inglis stayed right till the end and guided PBKS to a thumping win, and was accompanied by captain Shreyas Iyer, who ensured that there wasn't any blip in the final moments of the game.
The PBKS management would want their top order to replicate the performance they delivered against the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians, as it was an effortless display of batting.
It appears like PBKS will go with an unchanged batting order in the all-important game against RCB.
Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Harpreet Brar, Xavier Bartlett, Vijaykumar Vyshak
PBKS would be elated by the performance of their leading wicket-taker in the history of IPL, Arshdeep Singh, who picked up two wickets in the last over to restrict MI to a below-par total.
PBKS would hope for Arshdeep to carry the form he has picked up in the next game against RCB at Mullanpur.
The Punjab-based team will have to make a force with Marco Jansen linking up with South Africa to prepare for the WTC final.
Punjab Kings are expected to bring in Australian quick Xavier Bartlett, who has featured in a few games in the ongoing season.
Punjab would want Vijaykumar Vyshak to put in a much-improved effort with the ball, as he can be an option who can take the new ball in the absence of Jansen.
With Yuzvendra Chahal nursing an injury, Punjab Kings would pin their hopes on experienced spinner Harpreet Brar to pick wickets in the middle overs and bowl an over or two in the powerplay as well.
