Punjab Kings have fixed their berths in the squad for retentions list ahead of IPL Auction 2025. Punjab Kings, which is dubbed the least successful team in IPL, have submitted the final list of retained players to BCCI on Thursday, October 31.

Notably, BCCI had set the deadline of October 31 for all franchises to fix their list of retained players for IPL Auction 2025. According to the rules, every franchise can retain 6 players in their squad for IPL 2025.

Out of these, there can be 5 or less capped players and 2 or less uncapped members. Also, a franchise has a total salary cap of Rs. 120 crore, out of which, they can spend Rs. 75 crore on their retention.

Punjab Kings finished in the 9th spot in the points table last season

Punjab Kings ended in the 9th spot last season with yet another poor show. Notably, Punjab Kings have never reached the playoffs since the 2014 season, where they ended as runners-up.

Led by Shikhar Dhawan, PBKS won 5 games and lost 9 out of 14. With 10 points, they finished in the 9th spot out of 10 teams. Hence, they the among the worst performers of the season.

Shashank Singh and Harshal Patel gave the best performances for the team

Shashank Singh was a surprise pick for Punjab Kings last season but arrived with a stunning performance. The right-handed batsman slammed 354 runs in 14 games at 44+ average and 164+ strike rate.

The next on the list was Prabhsiman Singh, who slammed 334 runs in 14 games. Among bowlers, Harshal Patel clinched the most 24 wickets in 14 games for the team, followed by Arshdeep Singh with 19 scalps.

Interestingly, Harshal Patel was also the highest wicket-taker in the season and won the purple cap. However, there was a sharp difference between his show and the team's performance.

Since Punjab has consistently failed to reach playoffs for many seasons, they will make many changes in their squad during IPL Auction 2025. Below is the list of retained members for the side.
