Rajasthan Royals has finalized their retention list for IPL Auction 2025 and submitted the list of retained players to BCCI. All the franchises had a deadline to submit their final list of retained players for IPL Auction 2025 by Thursday, October 31.

BCCI has allowed each franchise to retain 6 players in their squad ahead of IPL 2025. Out of these, there can be 5 or less capped players and 2 or less uncapped members. Hence, franchises can pick a combination of 5+1 or 4+2 retained players in their squad.

Each franchise has been allocated Rs. 120 crore salary purse and they can use Rs. 75 crore for their retained members. They can use an 18-14-11 crore for the first three retentions. They can go ahead with Rs. 18 crore and Rs. 14 crore if they want to retain six members. The cost of uncapped players is fixed at Rs. 4 crore.

Rajasthan Royals reached Qualifier 2 last season

Rajasthan Royals is one team that has made a lot of progress since the last mega auction. Rajasthan Royals reached the playoffs last season but lost the Qualifier 2 match to Sunriser's Hyderabad. Notably, the Sanju Samson-led side lost the final in the 2022 season.

In the league stage, Rajasthan Royals won 8 games and lost 5 out of 14. With 17 points, they ended in the 3rd spot in the points table. They defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator but lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 2 and could not reach the final.

Rajasthan Royals showed amazing teamwork last season

Riyan Parag was the highest run-getter for the side last season with 573 runs. Sanju Samson followed him with 531 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was another impressive batter with 435 runs.

Among bowlers, Avesh Khan grabbed the most 19 wickets for the side across 16 games. Yuzvendra Chahal picked 18 scalps in 15 matches while Trent Boult got 16 wickets. Hence, RR players showed a lot of teamwork in both batting and bowling till their journey to Qualifier 2 last season.

Now, since RR comprised many brilliant members in their squad last season the franchise will face a big challenge to form an equally dominant team. Notably, many RR members are also part of the national teams and other franchises will target them during IPL Auction 2025.
