Former India National Cricket Team player Ravichandran Ashwin took a subtle dig at captain Rohit Sharma after his another failure in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, felt fans. Later, after a lot of drama on his comment, Ravichandran Ashwin clarified that his comment wasn't for Rohit Sharma. He said that it was for Yashasvi Jaiswal as he wrote: "Now a days, implied meaning can be taken out of context. I was referring to Jaiswals wonderful scrap today. Peace out folks."

Australia beat India by 184 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series

Coming to the match, Australia completed a sensational win in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. They beat India by 184 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Jasprit Bumrah claimed his another fifer in the series as he didn't let Nathan Lyon (41) and Scott Boland (15*) add much to their overnight tally of 330 as Australia got all out for 234, setting a target of 340.

Chasing the target, India had a decent start with the bat as Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal (84) batted for 16 overs before the captain was back for nine runs. After that, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli fell early, too, as India was left reeling at 33.

It was then that Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant (30) brought India back into the game and batted the entire second session without a fault. The Rishabh-Jaiswal duo added 88 runs, and it seemed that the game would end in a draw. However, the wicket of the keeper-batter triggered the collapse for India as Australia kept picking wickets at regular intervals.

Jaiswal and Washington Sundar (5*) tried hard but couldn't save the game as Australia bundled out India for 155 to win the game by 184 runs.
