Ravichandran Ashwin Reveals Shocking Details Of MI's Attempt To Trade In A PBKS Star

Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has spoken about Hardik Pandya’s return to Mumbai Indiana ahead of IPL 2024. The former Gujarat Titans player returned to the franchise from where he started his journey in the IPL.

As it turned out, he made his India debut after playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and is now considered one of the best all-rounders of the white-ball formats.

Mumbai Indians traded Australian all-rounder Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to allow Hardik Pandya to return to his “home franchise”. Reportedly Mumbai Indians bought back Hardik for 15 crores in an all-cas deal with Gujarat Titans.

In his recent YouTube video, Ashwin how explained how this whole Hardik Pandya trade worked out. In the process, he also recalled an incident when the franchise tried to trade former Kings XI Punjab batter David Miller to their franchise.

Mumbai Indians Tried To Sign David Miller In A Trade Deal From Kings XI Punjab: Ravichandran Ashwin

“When I was Punjab captain, the Mumbai Indians tried to sign David Miller in a trade deal. They were willing to give as much money as possible, but I wanted a player trade-off as that is what the team would need, which they never came close to agreeing to,” said Ashwin on his YouTube channel.

Miller played for Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) from IPL 2013 to IPL 2021. In 2022, he was signed up by Gujarat Titans. The southpaw played a key role in helping them win the title in their debut season.

Mumbai Indians released 11 players during the IPL 2023 retention ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan were the two big names who were released by the franchise. There are also reports of differences between Jasprit Bumrah and Mumbai Indians.
