OMLC club San Francisco Unicorns issued an official statement on Ravichandran Ashwin's injury
The Major League Cricket club, San Francisco Unicorns, also stated the occasion. On behalf of the club, the General Manager of the team mentioned that it was a disheartening moment for them to lose a player like Ashwin, whose performance was beyond on the field within his short stint with the franchise.
"Losing a player of Ashwin’s quality and stature to a mid-season injury is naturally disappointing. Beyond his performances on the field, he has been an outstanding professional and a tremendous leader within our group. Ashwin has had a real impact on our entire team, and we wish him every success with his recovery," Graham Manou, General Manager of Cricket Performance for the San Francisco Unicorns, said.
It is worth mentioning that the former Team India spinner was previously ruled out of making his debut in the Big Bash League for a knee issue. It is unclear whether it is a fresh injury or the previous one that has forced him to walk away from MLC.
In those two overs, which he bowled against Texas, for the San Francisco Unicorns, Ashwin conceded 24 runs in total, without taking any wickets.
