Yes, I am one of the best fielders in the world. But I don’t take anything for granted – I keep working on my game and my fitness. I do a lot of shoulder exercises and running for that, for instance. That’s how I maintain my fitness, which helps me on the field,” the all-rounder said.

Ever since MS Dhoni took over the reins, fitness became a prime factor in playing for the national team. Dhoni stressed the fielding aspect of the game, and it’s something his successor Virat Kohli adopted as well. As a reason, players have started to focus on maintaining their physical health, as per Jadeja.

Virat definitely has been very enthusiastic, proactive, and fit. He believes a lot in fitness as well, so everyone has to raise their fitness standards. Everyone in the team has been working on their fitness, that’s why you can see the difference in the field now,” the 32-year-old said.

Ravindra Jadeja is one of the best fielders in the world and is usually a captain’s go-to on the boundary lines. He is safe as houses in the deep fielding positions, having taken as many as 120 catches in 271 international matches.
