Ravindra Jadeja makes history, enters Indian cricket's legendary top 5 list with terrific performance vs NZ

India allrounder Ravindra Jadeja achieved another historic milestone in his career during the third Test between India and New Zealand in Mumbai. Jadeja joined the list of legends which includes the likes of Anil Kumble, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Kapil Dev.
The left-arm spinner achieved this feat after picking up his third wicket of the day when he dismissed Glenn Phillips off a brilliant arm ball that did not turn and came in after pitching. The ball shattered the stumps of Phillips as the batter had no idea where it was going.
Ravindra Jadeja achieves historic milestone to join Anil Kumble and Ravichandran Ashwin
With the wicket of Phillips, Ravindra Jadeja entered the list of the top five wicket-takers of India in Test cricket. Jadeja surpassed Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan who have picked up 311 wickets each in their respective Test careers.
Currently, Jadeja is fifth on the list of highest wicket-takers for India in Test cricket. Anil Kumble tops the list with 619 wickets to his name. Jadeja's spin bowling partner Ravichandran Ashwin is second on this list with 533 wickets to his name so far.
India's legendary allrounder Kapil Dev is third on this list with 434 wickets. Kapil Dev is also India's highest wicket-taker in Tests among the fast bowlers and the only fast bowler in the top five now.
The fourth spot in this list is occupied by Harbhajan Singh, who has 417 wickets to his name in 103 Tests. Jadeja is almost 100 wickets behind Harbhajan right now.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja picked up his 14th five-wicket haul in Mumbai. New Zealand were cruising at one stage but Jadeja applied the brakes after lunch and picked up wickets in clusters. He finished with 5-65 in 22 overs which helped India in reducing New Zealand to 235 in the first innings.
