Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns in Match 11 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, April 5. It will be the second match at the venue in Bengaluru during the tournament after the opener on Sunday, March 28.

The Rajat Patidar-led side started their campaign with a six-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the season opener at their home ground. Meanwhile, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team, which finished at the bottom of the table last season, suffered a disappointing defeat against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will enter the match without Josh Hazlewood and Nuwan Thushara. Rajat Patidar will lead the side after their opening win. Jacob Duffy and Devdutt Padikkal made the most of the home conditions at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Chennai Super Kings are also dealing with an injury crisis. MS Dhoni is out for at least two weeks due to a calf strain, while Dewald Brevis is unavailable with a side strain. Spencer Johnson is expected to join the CSK bowling attack around April 21-23.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will back Virat Kohli and Phil Salt at the top. The duo added just 9 runs for the first wicket in the opening match. Kohli loves dominating opposition fast bowlers during the powerplay overs in Bengaluru. He scored 69 runs off 38 balls, including five fours and as many sixes.

Middle-order batters and All-rounders: Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, Tim David, Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Romario Shepherd

Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, Jitesh Sharma, and Tim David will strengthen the middle order. The management can use Krunal Pandya as a floater if there is a collapse in the match. Romario Shepherd can provide finishing touches in the death overs and can clear the boundary with ease.

Abhinandan Singh made his IPL debut in the recent match. He showed glimpses of promise but conceded 38 runs while picking up one wicket in his three overs.

The Chennai Super Kings need a stronger opening partnership after their batting collapse against the Rajasthan Royals. Sanju Samson will open alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad. Samson will also handle the wicketkeeping duties while MS Dhoni remains injured.

Middle-order batters and All-rounders: Ayush Mhatre, Matt Short, Shivam Dube, Karthik Sharma, Jamie Overton

Ayush Mhatre was moved to the No. 3 position in the previous match. With Dewald Brevis injured, Matt Short will take responsibility alongside Shivam Dube. Dube will need to attack the RCB spinners, while Karthik Sharma and Jamie Overton add lower-order depth.

For CSK, there are several Impact Player choices available. Sarfaraz Khan or Urvil Patel could be used to strengthen their batting lineup in case of a collapse. Gurjapneet Singh is an option as an extra bowler while bowling first.
