Indian cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle and batting maestro Virat Kohli seem to not share a great relationship, thanks to the broadcaster’s much-debatable analysis of the cricketer’s batting.
Bhogle’s analysis of Kohli's batting approach in T20 cricket, including his strike rate during the ongoing IPL 2024, has always triggered criticism on social media.
Despite being one of the most modern-era legends in the world, Kohli's approach to T20 cricket has often drawn criticism from commentators.
Bhogle, known for his insightful analysis and candid opinions, has opined that Kohli must adapt to the fast-paced nature of T20 cricket.
The presenter has raised questions about the Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB) batter’s relatively lower strike rate at the start of the ongoing IPL 2024 many times, for which he was heavily criticized by Kohli’s fans. Even Kohli recently responded to his strike rate critics after one of the RCB’s IPL matches.
Harsha Bhogle pays tribute to Virat Kohli's athleticism, fitness and skill
Meanwhile, it seems that Bhogle took a U-turn, as the well-known commentator paid tribute to Kohli for his athleticism, fitness, and skill.
He shared a short clip on his X handle featuring Kohli’s mind-blowing fielding during RCB’s last IPL 2024 clash against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Dharamshala.
In the video, Kohli can be seen showing his great athleticism, as he ran like a cheetah and then just drove half to perfectly run out the PBKS batter, Shashank Singh, who was looking dangerous for RCB.
He ensured Shashank returned to the pavilion at 37 off 19 balls during his team’s 60-run win in the IPL 2024 clash at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.
Before his spectacular fielding efforts, the former RCB skipper played a match-winning knock of 92 runs off 47 balls against the PBKS. Sharing the clip to praise Kohli's amazing fitness, Harsha Bhogle wrote on X: “This is a wonderful angle for the Kohli run-out. Tribute to athleticism, fitness, and skill. One of the best you will see.”
